Weekend Recap- Visiting my BFF’s

February 15, 2016 in College

Hi guys and happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. Going to be doing a weekend recap today and share some of the fun things I did over the weekend so let’s get started! :)

I had class from 9:30-10:20 then 10:20-11:30! After class I got lunch with my friends then went to volunteer from 1:00-2:30. I volunteer with Best Buddies, which is an organization where you get paired with a person with special needs and do activities with them and help them feel like they’re living a more normal live. I love it so so much and working with them really does brighten my day.

Danny, Sydney, and me

After Best Buddies, I came back and took a nap since I was exhausted. After, I did some yoga in my room, hung with friends, and got dinner. It was my friend Jimmy’s birthday so we all hung out in his room and had a pretty chill but fun night!

Saturday morning, my friend Gabby and I left to visit my friends at Umass Amherst. On the way, we stopped for bagels and coffee.

The look of love: honey grain bagel with honey raisin cream cheese… amazing.

We made the 2 hour trip and made it there around 12:30. I met up with my  best friend Ceara and we got lunch at Chipotle. My favorite place evaaaa<3

Salad with brown rice, pinto beans, fajita vegetables, mild salsa, corn, and guac. So so good.

I picked up my friend from high school that goes to school in Connecticut at the train station around 4. After, I took a nap because I was so tired. My friends and I got dinner at the dining hall then came back and got ready for the night. Saturday was absolutely freezing so we all agreed on staying in and hanging in the dorms. We hung out with some people on my friend Maria’s floor and caught up on everything. Gabby, my friend that goes to college with me, got to hang with my high school friends which was awesome too. All my favorite people together in one night and I was so, so happy.

Some polaroids from the night. S/O to Gab for coming in clutch with the camera. 🙂

Gab and I. So thankful for this gal and that college brought me someone as amazing as her. <3

I slept in Sunday morning, and we all went to the dining hall around 12 to get food. I had the best omelette ever and the food at their dining hall was amazing in general. We talked over food and coffee and enjoyed our last hour together before Gab, Hannah, and I had to leave. I drove Hannah back to the train station and Gab and I were off and headed back to Stonehill. The drive was about 2 hours, so I was sooooo tired when I got back. I did some homework, caught up with friends, showered, and called it a night.

Overall, it was a good weekend and I am so blessed I got to reunite with my best friends. Extremely thankful for all the amazing people in my life. <3

Now tell me,

What was the highlight of your weekend?

Do you enjoy volunteering?

Thanks for reading guys! Hope you have a great Monday :)

Wow Lyss ! what a busy weekend you had, but it was all fun, so that is great. I love the fact that you do volunteering for a Special Needs Organisation. That really warms my heart. People with Special Needs are so special and all they want is to be accepted. Thanks for that. <3
    Have a beautiful week 🙂

We both had bagels saturday morning! So goooood.
This is weird, but I have never been on a train, so hearing “train station” makes me think of Harry Potter! Lol.
You are looking real cute in that crop top!

The highlight of my weekend was having my boyfriend come and visit! I had to work but we still had a really nice time together. We managed to get outside once in the 2 degree weather to walk to get pizza!! So worth the walk! 🙂 I also love volunteering too, I volunteer every year with my Dad’s local Rotary Club and it’s always so much fun!

Aw that sounds like a great weekend!! It was freezing here too. But I’m sure the pizza was worth the cold walk haha. And that volunteer work does sound like so much fun! Hope you have a great start to your week Marina 🙂

I love that you volunteer, and for such an amazing cause! Your weekend sounds great girl. I had a great day yesterday at the Florida State Fair with my boyfriend, and we saw Deadpool on Saturday night with some friends- it was really good!

The highlight of my weekend was watching the marathon trials. I basically imagined myself there (both for the warmth and the experience) and was so happy and content. I enjoy volunteering if it is something I am interested in like reading to kids or doing race aid stations. When I was young my siblings and I did 4-H and we volunteered a lot. I did not like volunteering at a hospital. There is something about that place that I just don’t like. I don’t know what it is. I loved nursing homes though so I really don’t know what my thing is about hospitals =P
Have a great week Lyss <3<3

I love reading to kids too! I’m not the biggest fan of volunteering at hospitals either. Hope you have a great week as well 🙂

I love that you’re involved with Best Buddies! It sounds like such a great organization. I volunteer for my church and local food pantry’s and really enjoy it!
The highlight of my weekend was baking Valentine’s Day cookies/treats on Sunday! 🙂

I have always wanted to volunteer for a food pantry- that sounds awesome! I love baking. Wish I could have made some stuff for Valentine’s day! Hope you have a great Monday Melanie 🙂

Looks like you had such a great weekend!! I am a huge fan of chipotle too! I loved when my besties from high school got to meet my besties from college. At our wedding this past year, all my friends from all stages of my life were there to help us celebrate, which was so fun!

    • Reply Alyssa February 18, 2016 at 2:15 am

Chipotle is my fav!! Ah- that sounds like SO much fun. Glad you had a good weekend as well Taylor 🙂 Hope your week is going good! xoxo

  • Reply Kaylee February 16, 2016 at 4:31 pm

Did y’all take advantage of the free Chipotle coupon last week? 😀

So weird because I was volunteering on Friday morning too!! I participated in Junior Achievement and got to teach 2nd graders for a day. Totally out of my comfort zone but an enriching experience nonetheless!

The highlight of my weekend was spending a warm Valentine’s day with my mom! We had Indian food for lunch, watched Room & grabbed popsicles for snack.

    • Reply Alyssa February 18, 2016 at 2:14 am

Yes, we did!! That sounds like such a great experience. And the most perfect Valentine’s day!! Glad you had a good weekend Kaylee 🙂

Looks like a super fun weekend. You look so cute in the crop top/cardigan outfit you wore in the polaroid pics 🙂 The only volunteer work I’ve done is crocheting hats for Knit For Kids. They send hats to kids in need all around the world. Have a lovely day girl <3

Aw thank you so much Edye! That sounds amazing- I wish I knew how to crotchet! Hope you have a great day as well 🙂
