Weekend Recap- concert+NEDA walk

April 12, 2016 in College / Uncategorized

Hi guys and happy Tuesday! Hope you all are doing well and that you had a lovely weekend. I’m going to be recapping my weekend for you all today, so lets get started!

On Friday, I volunteered at Best buddies for two hours after class. After volunteering, I came back and took a nap. Life has been crazy with schoolwork, so it was much needed.

After napping and watching some Netflix, I started getting ready to go out. Waka Flaka and T-Pain came to our school for our spring concert, so my friends and I decided to go.

I decided to wear this new crop top from Forever 21 I bought online this week and some ripped jeans from Charlotte Russe. And my high top white converse because I am in love with them.

Some pictures from the night:

Jen, me, and Shannon with our drinks cuz as T Pain would say, imma buy you a drank hehe

The actual concert was lots of fun. It was pretty crowded and I got shoved around a lot which were some downfalls, but spending time with my friends was awesome. I left the concert around 11:00, went back to my friend Paige’s room and hung out with her, then we got some midnight snacks from this place on campus. Perfect way to end the night!

I slept in a bit Saturday morning but a Dunkin Donuts iced coffee and my friend were my motivators to get my booty out of bed. I went to the library around 12:00 and stayed till 5:00. My friend Jillian came too and we studied social psych together. After the library, we went to the gym for an hour, showered, then walked to Panera for dinner. We talked/studied a bit more at Panera over dinner and left around 10:00. We hung out for a bit with some other friends and then hit the hay.

On Sunday morning, my friend Paige picked me up at my dorm and we got breakfast. We went to this awesome bagel place around the corner and got iced coffee’s too. After breakfast, we were on our way to the NEDA walk.

My parents came so I got to see them which was awesome. I also saw my friends from Project Heal, some Instagram friends, and some people from treatment. I love the NEDA walks and how great they are organized. They are truly a wonderful place to bring everyone together and raise awareness for something that sucks so much, that being ED’s. The speakers were amazing and the environment was so positive. Truly felt inspired and empowered after leaving and spending my morning there.

My therapist Erika from treatment and I. So great to talk with her.

After the walk, Paige and I got lunch at Whole Foods which was super yummy. We got back around 1:30 and I took a quick power nap before studying. I got to the library around 2:30 and studied my booty off for social psych. (a large coffee was consumed in the process)

Overall, it was a great weekend!! Honestly best one I have had in a while 🙂

Now tell me:

What was the highlight from your weekend?

Favorite T Pain song?

Hope you guys have a great Tuesday!

Sending my love as always.

So much fun here! You look super cute for the concert. I actually love that “overcrowded” feel at concerts. I think it adds to the excitement.
After I saw your instagram post about the NEDA walk, I went to look up walks around me and saw there is one this summer. I am going to plan to go… I’ve been wanting to go to one but kind of forgot about it! Thanks for the wonderful reminder!

I think it is awesome how you balanced your weekend with the perfect amount of partying, studying, eating out, participating in a walk AND saw your family, that is definitely awesome.
My weekend highlight was getting to go out for James’ birthday at this awesome bar that served drinks in coconuts or pineapples! Got to see a bunch of friends too, which is always nice 🙂

OMG T-Pain ahahahhaa he was huge when I was in high school. So huge I cannot remember any of his songs…but that’s because I’m bad with music. I was more of a Chris Brown, Pitbull and Flo Rida person 😉 The best part of my weekend was spending time with people from my community on Sunday. I really live in a beautiful place.

    • Reply Alyssa April 13, 2016 at 4:19 am

I just looked up Best Buddies as I had no idea what it was and that sounds like such a great thing to be involved with! I volunteer with local kids in foster care and I think I get more out of it then they do as I love spending time with them and being a stable part of their lives!

Looks like you had an awesome weekend, girl!

    • Reply Alyssa April 13, 2016 at 4:18 am

The only T-pain song I know is “Thug Story” he did with Taylor Swift years ago, haha. You should check it out on youtube if you haven’t heard of it before. I’ve always wanted to attend a NEDA walk. I hope to do so someday, maybe even when I’m an adult I’ll take my future kids with me 🙂
