Top 3 Friday 9/2/16

September 2, 2016 in Friday Favorites

Hi guys and happy Friday! First week of sophomore year is done 🙂 Lots of adjusting took place this week but I am feeling so happy to be back on campus and super grateful to be with my friends again. And I have a 4 day weekend- no classes on Friday + classes off for Labor Day…. yahoooo!

Today I’m going to be linking up with Kate for another Top 3 Friday, so let’s get started!

Top 3 Eats

My last meal at home Sunday-> 2 scrambled eggs, banana with PB, and a Siggi’s yogurt! So good!

Qdoba salad while out with my parents! Topped with corn, beans, mild salsa, peppers/onions, chicken, and guac!

Top 3 Highs

-Being on the board for two clubs. This year I’m on the eBoard for two clubs: one called health at the hill which promotes mental and physical well-being, and another called Autism Speaks! I’m so excited for both of them and to make them great this year. 😉

-Seeing my parents for lunch yesterday. Anytime I get to see them while at school is such a blessing!! <3

-Being with my friends again… feeling extra grateful for their love.

( I have some more highs than 3 this week because finding the best in little situations is so important to me!)

-Going to church Tuesday night, seeing the people in my old dorm room, and spending time with my cousin who is a freshman at my college.

-A great leg day on Wednesday. 🙂

Lows

-Trying to find a routine/schedule again. Things are still kind of all over the place, but I know a schedule will come in no time so I am not going to fret over it. 🙂

Guac is amazing–one of my top 5 foods I would say. I’m a huge qdoba fan (i think its better than chipotle!) Enjoy your weekend!

I am starting to like it better than chipotle too! The veggies tasted fresher to me there!

When it comes to routine, although I love it, I think I kind of like not having a routine. I love just waking up, blog while I sip on my coffee and not have to think about what I want to do today or feel like I need to do something. Those days are rare, so I’m enjoying that before school starts.
    Guac fan ALL THE WAY!!!
    Enjoy this long weekend!!

I feel that! Not having anything to do can feel like a weight off your chest. I love those quiet, relaxing mornings too 🙂

  • Reply Emily September 2, 2016 at 2:52 pm

I used to think I was way more spontaneous than I am, but I actually do really love routine, because it really keeps my body in a more steady state. However I’m definitely learning to trust God more and more and more and fully in every state, whether it be routine or not.

And YAY For the first week being done! You completed the first marathon. 🙂

Very true that we need to trust God regardless of what state we are in when it comes to routine/not having one! Thank you for that reminder love!

  • Reply Cora September 2, 2016 at 4:33 pm

Welcome back to school, Lyss! The first week is always SO exciting. Reuniting with your friends, getting all your books, making your new schedule, seeing your friends! Ahhh I miss it. That schedule will come soon enough though. It comes naturally, it just takes time. So I say right now revel in the disorder and chaos… it won’t be this way very often! Have FUN!

Going back to a familiar church feels so good doesn’t it? I loved my church community at college, I’d go back in one second!
I like routine on work days, but like to fly around doing whatever on days off. Guac is fantastic, but I like plain avocado more 🙂

GUAC 4 Life. I seriously get the biggest feeling of warmth when the people at Chipotle pile it one for me.
I’m glad your first week back at college has been a good one. Both of those clubs sound like a lot of fun. Participating in clubs was one of my favorite parts of undergrad!

Yes I’m craving routine right now. We have our mid semester break and I hate feeling guilty for not studying and then feeling completely unproductive when I try to do any work.
