Top 3 Highs

  1. Father’s Day -> My dad and I spent the morning together going to church, running errands, then sitting by the pool. It was such a nice day and the weather was absolutely gorgeous!
  2. Dinner and a fire with my friends. We went to chipotle then had a fire after. It was so nice and we definitely shared a lot of laughs! So thankful to have such amazing people in my life. <3
  3.  Nature walk with mom. We grabbed lunch at my favorite juice bar then hit the nature trails. It was a gorgeous day outside and the trails were beautiful. We walked a little over 2 miles and had such a good time. My mom is the best and I love days like this with her! 🙂

Top 3 lows

  1. Getting my deodorant on black shirts… anyone else get so annoyed by this?!
  2. An argument with my brother. I never like getting into arguments with anyone. I always overthink it after and all that we said. Everything is fine between us now- just a typical bro and sis dispute.
  3. Thinking too much. Sometimes when I think too much about going back to school, I get nervous and a bit anxious. I know it will be fine and great, but my brain and thoughts have the tendency to get the best of me at times.

Top 3 Instagrams

What nobody tells you about going to college

College is hard. I learned that my first year. But it IS worth it, and it is a time of growth!

It sounds like you had a lovely week, girl!

My ideal mama daughter day is probably spending the day at a spa! Earlier in the year I treated my Mum to a 2 hr massage (and myself too – it was our Christmas present!) and it was so so nice!

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:03 pm

Spa days are so nice. I haven’t had a massage in a while, but boy are they amazing!

  • Reply Marina @ A Dancer's Live-It June 24, 2016 at 11:39 am

Omg I hate deodorant on black shirts, that’s been happening to me lately too! Hahah great roundup of reads too, can’t wait to read your interview with Amber 🙂 For me, an ideal mamma-daughter day would include a Vinyasa yoga class, a pedicure, and a delicious dinner out somewhere. My mom comes home from Spain today so I’m excited to see her! Have a fabulous Friday love <3

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:04 pm

I love vinyasa yoga! And pedicures with mom are the best. 🙂 Aw that is so exciting!! Hope you two are having a lovely weekend together <3

  • Reply Kate June 24, 2016 at 11:39 am

Ugh, I always overthink arguments too. I never feel like my “sorry” is enough.
That s’more looks like perfection! I always burn my marshmallows, because that’s how I like them, but that looks amazing!
Isn’t summer great with all the social stuff? I feel like I’ve been more social in the past month that the last year, haha.

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:04 pm

I feel like it is so much more easy to be social in the summer, and even have time for “me” time to! Without the stress of school, there has been more time for plans and fun 🙂

  • Reply Heather @ Polyglot Jot June 24, 2016 at 1:58 pm

So fun! I’m taking my mom out for dinner in the city and then to a show this weekend! Love mom-daughter times!

I havent had a smores yet! dying for one!

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:05 pm

Aw I hope you two have a great time! S’mores really are the perfect summer treat!

  • Reply Claire @ My Pink & Green Life June 24, 2016 at 2:57 pm

Yum. I’m drooling over that s’more! I’m going camping with my dad this weekend actually and hoping to eat lots of them. 😀

And that nutrition myths article. When someone tells me they’re going gluten-free because it’s “healthier” I want to bang my head on the table! I have to limit the amount of gluten I eat because of IBS, but if I could I’d still be eating whole wheat PB toast every day. People really need to stop labeling foods based on hearsay.

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:06 pm

Aw that will be so fun, I hope you have a great time camping Claire! I agree with the food labeling too- it does need to stop! Have a wonderful weekend girly <3

A high from my week was getting in 4 early morning workouts! I am going home in a few weeks and my mom and I have plans for a mother daughter spa day.. we are getting facials! can’t wait!

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:07 pm

Good job on your workouts! That sounds so nice, facials are the best!!

  • Reply Edye June 24, 2016 at 5:22 pm

I’ve never tried the oatmeal raisin L&L cookie before, I must find one asap!! My ideal mother-daughter day would be getting iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts and getting my nails done with my mom 🙂

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:07 pm

I definitely recommend that flavor Edye! I love Dunkin Donuts iced coffee, so good 🙂

  • Reply Sarah @ BucketListTummy June 24, 2016 at 7:28 pm

Thanks for sharing my post, Alyssa 🙂 Whenever I find myself thinking too much, I take deep breaths, go for a walk, or call a loved one – anything to get my mind off what I’m’ overthinking!

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:08 pm

Of course Sarah! Loved it. Those are all good tip- thank you for those! <3

  • Reply Megan June 24, 2016 at 8:53 pm

Thank you for sharing my post! My top moment of this week was finishing my exam and finally being free! Last night I went to a scottish dance at my church as well which was the most fun I’ve had in ages.

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:08 pm

Of course Meagan! I really resonated with it. congrats on finishing up strong! And so glad you had fun 🙂

  • Reply Ellie June 25, 2016 at 12:51 am

I enjoyed Megan’s post about college. She’s right and there is no right way to do it. Deodorant is something I often forget =P I think the stains were so annoying I just didn’t bother anymore haha

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:10 pm

There really is no right way to do college- we just have to trust in God! And learn from our mistakes too. Hope you have a happy weekend Ellie!

  • Reply Susie @ Suzlyfe June 25, 2016 at 10:51 am

Definitely a lovely week apart from the argument with your bro. But you know what? The crappy moments like that so that we can reset and we can grow. It called your attention to a destructive tendency, didn’t it? I’m in the same boat–now it is time to correct and mend. Or have smores. 😀

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:11 pm

That is really a great way to look at it- thank you for that Susie! Such great and wise words, and advice that I will most definitely put into action. Hope you are having a great weekend!

  • Reply Emily June 25, 2016 at 1:59 pm

That looks like an amazing week! And I agree with Susie that those moments that are lows are lows when we can learn. I know that God is teaching you things even in the valleys Lyss! <3 And… s'mores sound so good right now. Also that nature hike = so pretty. :)) I have a goal to budget in some Lenny's and Larry's soon. 🙂

    • Reply Alyssa June 25, 2016 at 5:13 pm

Yesss- totally agree! We learn from those lows. Thank you for that Emily! You should definitely save up for those cookies. I really think you would love them 🙂

  • Reply sarah June 25, 2016 at 8:17 pm

Ugh, deodorant on a black shirt is the worst! Glad you had a good week girl, love ya!

    • Reply Alyssa June 26, 2016 at 2:55 pm

It really is!! And thank you girly <3

  • Reply Cayanne Marcus @healthyezsweet June 25, 2016 at 8:17 pm
