Top 3 Friday 6/17/16

June 17, 2016 in Friday Favorites

Hi guys and Happy Friday! Going to be sharing my top 3 fave things from this week. Linking up with Kate today for this post. Let’s get started!

Top 3 eats

These egg white oats topped with banana, hemp hearts, cinnamon, banana, and earth balance coconut creamy pb!

Technically not food, but iced coffee really does put the biggest smile on my face! Forever in love <3

Top 3 highs

1. Seeing my roommate and spending the day with her. She lives in Rhode Island, so I drove to see her Wednesday. We spent the day by the beach catching up and soakin’ up the sunshine. I spent the day there and after dinner with her family, I made the trek home! Great to reunite with her. 🙂

2. Coffee with a friend and a great talk. I went to this cute coffee shop nearby and had a wonderful talk with a good friend over latte’s. I love deep and long talks with people- truly makes me so happy.

3. Beach time. This past Wednesday was the first day I spent at the beach this summer. I got a little sunburn, but sitting out there in the sun was SO amazing!

Top 3 lows

1. Orlando shooting. My heart is heavy over this. This world needs to learn to spread love, not hate. To not judge others, to show unconditional passion and kindness towards one another. My prayers are with the victims, those who lost their lives, and their families.

2. Traffic. I put this as a low another week, but traffic really is a huge bummer. Sitting in traffic just makes me anxious, but it is inevitable at times so I gotta learn to just deal with it!

3. Tiredness and crankiness. I think the 1.5 hour drive there and back Wednesday really made me exhausted. I found myself a bit cranky yesterday after work and Tuesday during work.

Top 3 Instagrams

Not a read, actually a podcast. This is most definitely one worth listening to. Maddy inspires me daily.

Thank you so so so much for including my post!! Love you!! 🙂 I’m so happy you and your roomie had a great time together, and I get cranky too when I don’t get enough sleep either. I just started listening to podcasts and I love them too! Namely Marley’s Chopped Con and Nicole Culver’s podcasts are my faves. Favorite oatmeal topping is ALL THE NUT BUTTER! Have a great Friday! <3

My favorite oatmeal toppings lately have been walnuts, raisins, and cinnamon. I always add a splash of almond milk, too, which makes them extra creamy, and at my grandparents house where I’m staying, they have almond coconut milk that adds a delicious coconut flavor! So good. Your top oats pic looks awesome!

Ok this is really weird, but I sometimes like putting butterscotch chips in my oatmeal. It’s really good in there 🙂 I think you would like the Food Psych podcast if you like Maddy Moon. Have a great weekend!

    • Reply Alyssa June 19, 2016 at 11:35 pm

Not weird at all- that actually sounds delish! Ooh I have heard of that- will have to check it out! Hope you have enjoyed your weekend Ellie! xoxo

That earth balance peanut butter has become my favourite thing in the world. Kristy sent me some and I’m gonna be so sad when it is finished!
I love listening to podcasts when I’m running. I quite like the Finding Joy podcast by Lauren Gaskill, she’s another blogger and it is really encouraging.

It is such good nut butter. I love it! I will have to check those podcasts out. Thank you for the suggestions!

I started following your i stagram and your story is beautiful. I’m in ed recovery right now and have been gaining but really struggling in the journey. Keep up what you’re doing. Your story is helping me and many others along the way. As for my fave oatmeal toppings… I like eating a fuji apple and half a banana with mine along with lactose free non fat milk and drizzle with honey 🙂

    • Reply Alyssa June 20, 2016 at 2:21 am

Aw wow- you are so sweet Jamie! Thank you for your kind words love <3 Keep fighting for freedom! You can do it with strength and courage. That sounds like a delightful bowl of oatmeal! 🙂

It’s funny you mention podcasts, especially Maddy’s, because I’ve realllly been wanting to get into them lately. I love music on my runs, but I think a podcast would keep me more engaged. Thank you for the reminder lovely!

Aaah I feel you on the traffic. My internship is 45 minutes away from my house and I always hit traffic on the way home… no fun, especially when you’re on a rural country highway surrounded by big, scary semi trucks!

Oooh, I saw that chocolate zucchini bread from Kristy and I was like GIVE ME. That is on the top of my to-make list right now! My favorite oatmeal topping is peanut butter and cocoa powder. 🙂

    • Reply Alyssa June 22, 2016 at 1:55 pm

Traffic is NO fun! Oooh cocoa powder sounds amazing on oatmeal!! I am going to have to try that!
