Thinking out Loud 10/13/16

October 13, 2016 in About Me / College

Hi guys and happy Thursdayyyy! I wasn’t feeling a mental health/recovery post today because my brain is literally fried and I can’t get myself to formulate a post that even makes sense. So here’s more of a fun post and some exciting things that have happened/ are coming up in my life this month!

I’ve known about this for a while but haven’t shared it on here, but I will be recording for a podcast Friday! It’s the podcast nutrition matters  and I’m so excited to be working with Paige and that I get this amazing opportunity!

A weekend at home

It was good to see my family this weekend and get a break from school. I worked at GNC two days and got to see some friends from high school. It didn’t really feel like a break because I was pretty busy, but regardless it was nice being home!

And it was so so nice eating an acai bowl aka my fave thing everrr with my best friend. 🙂

New pancake recipe

While I was home this weekend, I got to cook/bake which I missed so much and I played around with a new pancake recipe!

3 tbsp wheat flour, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 1 scoop chocolate sunwarrior protein powder, 2 tbsp egg whites, 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1/2 mashed banana. Top with banana, cinnamon, and nut butter

This weather is making me so happy. Fall weather and fall clothes are my fav. And getting to eat all the pumpkin stuff doesn’t hurt either.

Pumpkin spice tea and a pumpkin spice Lenny and Larry’s cookie=heaven

It’s never been my fav holiday but it’s fun in college getting to dress up with your friends! I have no idea what I’m going to be yet so if anyone has ideas help ya girl out.

Autism Speaks Walk

I’ve been doing this walk since I was 12. My uncle suffers from Autism, so it is something that is very meaningful to me. I’ll be walking with my college and all my best friends so I’m so excited for that!

Weekend plans

I’m not 100% sure what I’m doing this weekend, but I definitely want to catch up on some rest after this week. On Friday I plan on trying a bare class with my friend Brody, going to an extra credit even for a class, and recording for the podcast! On Saturday I think my friend Jillian and I are grabbing lunch at our fave little place by campus since we need a good meal that isn’t dining hall food. And I know I’ll be doing homework/studying and going to church on Sunday! Besides that, I’m not too sure what’ll be up for this weekend, but I’m trying hard not to plan everything to a T and learn to just go with the flow. (which can be hard for me!)

That’s it for today because I wanna get my butt out of this library and out of these jeans lol.

Now tell me

What were you for Halloween last year?

Have you listened to the nutrition matters podcast before?

Have a great Thursday friends!! <3

That’s wonderful that you get to go to that Autism walk. <3 Such a wonderful cause. . . And well, I think I might have a post about some Halloween things that I'm thinking about; we don't really celebrate, but I do like dressing up in costumes, as long as they aren't skeletons or zombies. Those kind of scare me. O_O

Don't you love coming up with new recipes at home? That pancake recipe looks AMAZING; and I totally am in love with how you smothered it with toppings.

I’m so excited for the walk Em! I can’t wait. 🙂 And the pancakes were great!!

Those pancakes look delish! Yay for being home and getting to play in the kitchen!

I haven’t dressed up for halloween in YEARS! The last time I dressed up was Christmas time, haha! 😉

Omg I remember you telling me about the podcast in Boston and I cannot wait to listen to it!! 🙂 Those pancakes look BOMB and I’m definitely going to make them soon! I’m glad you’ll be able to rest this weekend and have some down time with your friends too. I was one of the Seven Deadly Sins last year for Halloween with a group of my friends, I was Gluttony! Hahah

I can’t wait to listen to you on that podcast! That’s so exciting! This year my friends and I are dressing up as contestants on the Bachelor. Basically we wear some nice dresses, and come up with some fun and ridiculous job titles! I feel you on that brain fry. That’s definitely where I am right now. Even though I finished exams before my fall break I still want to be in break mode and getting ahead on work just hasn’t been a priority. Oh well!

Midterms definitely make your brain fried haha. I’m glad you got to have a break from school though! Hope all is well <3

Those pancakes look yummy! I don’t have the best luck when it comes to making pancakes. I guess it’s also because I’m not necessarily a big pancake fan. That’s so exciting that you’re going to be featured on that podcast! I’ll be sure to listen to it! I’m excited for Halloween also, even though it’s never been my favorite holiday. It actually always scared me when I was little lol. But I’m planning on visiting my friends at their college that weekend so it should be a lot of fun! Last year we dressed up as frat boys for a party and the scooby doo crew for school!

That will be a ton of fun visiting your friends! College halloweens are always more exciting 🙂

You could always wear something cute and then put a bow on ya with a tag that says “God’s gift to mankind” 😉 my friend had that idea and I loved it! Also if you’re into podcasts check out “Guys We Fucked” (pardon the curse) but it’s an anti slut shaming podcast about sexuality and female empowerment and it’s funny / enlightening as hell

Ooh that’s so exciting you’ll be on a podcast! I’d love to do that someday. I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I just freeze up as soon as I am on camera or being recorded so that could be an issue.
Yuuum I’m gonna make pancakes for breakfast tomorrow because #treatyoself

Haha, I can’t help you with the Halloween costume as I’m always pretty basic… last year Eric was a wizard and I was a cat 😛 Those pancakes look deeelish! Being home is the best. I’m hoping to make it home in a couple weeks with my sister so that we can celebrate her birthday away from all the college stress!

I’m afraid I can’t help you on the costume thing–I have no idea myself this year. But as for the autism walk, I think that’s awesome. I have a number of people close to me who are at various places on the autism spectrum. Hope you have a wonderful weekend–sounds like you’ll be busy.
