The Rebuilding Process

December 27, 2016 in Recovery

Hi loves and happy Tuesday!

I hope you all had a great day yesterday and are getting back into the swing of things. Also- how is it the last week of 2016?! How crazy is that.

Anyways… I filmed a little video for y’all. One of my goals this year is to get more into YouTube scene, and I love filming videos because I feel like it’s more personal than just writing- ya feel me?

Anyways, I’m talking about the rebuilding process today. After a difficult time in our lives, we can’t just expect to be completely healed and back to normal. Healing isn’t linear- there are steps we have to take to get to our end goal. There are ups and downs we experience.

I still consider myself in this rebuilding process. A lot of tough things happened in the months of November and December. But I am working my little bum bum off to get where I want to be- I am rebuilding myself with the help of God.

I hope this resonates with at least one person out there. Just remember- we are not defined by our struggles, we are defined by how we bounce back from them. We are defined by how we rebuild ourselves.

Now tell me:

What helps you to bounce back from a challenging time?

Are you a goal-oriented person?

Thank you all for reading and watching. So grateful for you all!!

I am so so glad you’ve looked at the last few months as something to grow from – instead of something to dwell on.

You are incredible and so so strong and I am so proud of you, sweet girl! <3

Dear Lyss. I just caught up on your blog, and though I could have commented on the last four posts, I’ll just summarize it here. I’m glad you are back. You are strong and beautiful and resilient and your honesty and willingness to share your story with the world is something very unique and special. You will help many others, just by showing up as you are. I’m glad you took all the time away that you needed, and even more happy to now see you fighting your way up and out the other side <3. And I'm glad you had a lovely relaxing Christmas! Enjoy all the time off that you get!!

Bouncing back is something I call resilience. I read a study a few years ago that the trait of resilience is one HUGE factor in children that separates those who are happy and succeed (in whatever) and those who don’t. I have tried to be resilient in my own life and not let too many things get me down. I feel the feelings (like you did this past month) and then find a way out of it. We persevere because we know good things will happen and the dark places will end 🙂 <3

Just getting to this now, and something that I have come to realize is that we need these challenges, these pullbacks, because they recommit us to our mission. They help us grow even stronger for the long haul! So just know that, as you rebuild, you are building yourself even more strongly than before.
