Take Care of your Temple Tuesday #5

September 6, 2016 in Balance / College

Hi guys and happy Tuesday! So excited for another post for this series with my lovely friend Emily and to keep showing you all how important and vital it really is to take care of your body; as our bodies are temples! Taking care of your body means providing an endless amount of love for yourself, fueling yourself with feel good food and food that makes your soul thrive, moving in a way that makes you smile, and fitting in that self-care time even in the busiest seasons of our lives.

Today I am going to be sharing what I’ve been doing in regards to taking care of my temple lately, as my day-to-day life is most definitely different than how it was in the summer!
1. Blog reading. Taking time to sit down and just relax while reading my fav bloggers truly makes me so happy and relaxed. I try and fit even just 10 minutes of time into my day to read some blogs!
2. Reading the bible. I love the She Reads Truth website and the different plans they have. Staying connected to God and Jesus keeps my heart at peace.
3. Working out! Working out has become something that is so fun for me, and for that I am so so thankful.
4. Spending time with friends. Surrounding myself with other people who I love and inspire me daily makes my heart SO full.

Ventured with my bff Jillian to Boston on Sunday and we had the best sweetgreen salads EVERRR!

My amazing roomie and me 🙂
5. Talking with my parents and staying in touch with my friends. Staying close to the ones who have been there with me through it all is so important to me. I always call/text my parents and stay in touch with my best friends from high school. 🙂
6. Finding time to write! Finding time to blog in college can be tough, yet I always try and squeeze it in because blogging and writing genuinely makes me so happy.
7. Praying. Praying is another way I stay connected to God and just talking to him throughout the day helps me lots.
8. Having time for myself. This one is so important for me. Just having time for me and to relax helps me stay sane in all aspects of my life!
That’s it for today friends! These have been some of the ways that have helped me take care of my temple during this transition phase, and I hope they are of some help for you. 🙂
Now tell me,
What are some ways you’ve been taking care of your temple lately?
Thanks for reading friends and happy Tuesday!!

I love the She Reads Truth! I also love a Morning & Evening devotional on my I-pod. I’m nodding my head in agreement with so many of these; blog reading, PRAYING!, reading the Bible, reading encouraging blogs, and rejoicing in and counting God’s many blessings are all amazing ways to take care of our bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit. So thankful that God brought you into my life sister.

Hmm, I’ve been taking care of my temple by letting certain things I want to accomplish go, for now, and focusing on a few things I am able to do now. I wanted to “do it all” but a few wise ladies reminded me that taking it slower and focusing on fewer things will benefit me in making those things great.
I will get to it all, but at a slower pace 🙂

Letting things go is so important for our mental health! I think that is so awesome you are focusing on that and the pressure to “do it all” 🙂
