Some recent goals

April 19, 2016 in About Me

Hi guys and happy Tuesday!! Hope you are having a great beginning to your week. Wanted to share some recent things on my mind and some new goals I have for myself today, so let’s get started!

  1. Growing my relationship with God. -> I want to feel more connected to something on a bigger level. I want to start attending Church more and make prayer a habit; I want to become more of a wholesome person.
  2. Appreciate the little things. -> The compliment someone gives me, a sunny day, a perfectly made coffee. Appreciate ALL the good in life, even the things that seem so small. appreciate-small-things-great-achievement-seekerohan-rohanrathore.com-The-Twenty-Something-quote.jpg
  3. Go outside more. -> Explore, spend more time outside and be a part of nature. 048d2b7c752a440cf0bb57b465da526e.jpg
  4. Help others. -> Continue to volunteer, continue to do my part in bettering the community.
  5. More gratitude. -> There is SO much to be thankful for and I am guilty sometimes of dwelling over the things that I don’t have instead of being thankful for all that I do have. a12a89c6977728cb117a268d2d0d6881.jpg
  6. Journaling every night. -> I bought a journal this past weekend and I want to make it a habit of writing in it every night. I want to write all of the good things from my day to remind myself that there can be good even in the worst of days; I want to write quotes, how I am feeling, etc. etc. I think journaling is such a powerful thing and I am excited that I bought this journal so I can start up again!
  7. Staying mindful. -> Living in the moment. Not being stressed about the past, not being worried and anxious about the future and the things I have to do. I want to live in the NOW.  cbkqidrukaesirk.jpg
  8. More time for reflection. -> Reflecting on my emotions, reflecting on how I am feeling, what is going on in my life… even if it is just 30 minutes. I think it is really important that we give ourselves some time to just breathe, some time to just think. 103135f0486b51664fc01bb0a562ba9a.jpg

Those are some of the things I want to work on and some of the little goals I have for myself. I think trying to better yourself is so important and I am always trying to be the best Lyss I can be. 🙂

Now tell me

Do you journal?

What are some of the recent goals you have for yourself?

Have a great Tuesday guys. Sending you all my love,

Xoxo

All this is so good. I have been so thankful that God, by His grace, is constantly humbling me and bringing me closer to Him. Knowing Him is a treasure, one that I’m not deserving of, and I’m so thankful that Jesus came and saved us so that we might know Him. <3 Hebrews 4:14-16, '14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.'

Love all of these goals Lyss 🙂 Especially living in the now, I struggle with this one sometimes because I’m such a planner. A goal I have for myself is to stop overthinking and taking things too seriously, because life is more fun that way! Have a wonderful Tuesday love! <3

I love this Alyssa. These are all meaningful goals. Not goals of want and material. So wonderful and refreshing!

I don’t journal, but I should. I also try to be more mindful when it comes to spending less time on social media, mindful eating, giving my body the rest it needs, and putting others first.

That is a good idea of spending less time on social media- I am always trying to do that and work on cutting back!!

Being present is a constant struggle. It’s something I want, but my brain doesn’t naturally work they way. I have to remind myself everyday.
Strengthening your spiritual life will do so much for you, I do believe. All you goals are wonderful. Gratitude is so important.

It is something that you always have to be working on and redirecting your focus too! It takes a lot of practice and I am still working on being the most mindful I can possibly be. Thank you so much for your support too Kate!

I think these are wonderful goals! I love being out in nature and journaling is something I try to do each day 🙂

Thank you so much Allie! And thank you for stopping by my blog 🙂 xoxo

I don’t really journal but consider my blog a mind dump so that’s basically a journal =P I used to have a pretty book I would write 5 things I was grateful for once or twice a week, but since my schedule changed I forgot to keep that up. I just finished my first 365 devotional (my goal last year was do spend more time with God everyday) and started another different one. What works for me is to spend my day praying small prayers rather than take like 30 minutes and say them all. I just pray whenever they occur to me. Have a great week Lyss!

I love that idea of writing down 5 things you are grateful for everyday. And that is a great way to pray! Thank you for your insight girl. Xoxo <3

These are all great goals! I recently got back into journaling a couple weeks ago. If you make time for it, it’s an incredible outlet to just get those thoughts out and on paper. I feel like my brain is a disorganized mess a lot of the time, something about writing down my thoughts and feels allows me to sort through them a little bit better.

    • Reply Alyssa April 21, 2016 at 3:07 am

Journaling is such a great outlet and a place to put those thoughts. It is like a little safe haven almost! Hope you are hanging in there this week babe! <3

I have learned journaling to be so, so important. It is so necessary to take time to reflect upon and really notice what or how you are feeling. I have found writing to be my most authentic way to let myself see… and then work through it if I need to. I would like to continue working at being more present in the moment. Its a daily constant task, and it takes time, but slowly it starts to become more and more of a norm. Beautiful goals Lyss 🙂

It is so necessary to reflect on things- could not agree more! Working on being present and in the moment is something you have to always be working on- couldn’t agree more! Thanks for reading Cora 🙂

Your goals sound like the perfect things to work on! Do you have a church that you attend every now and again or are you looking for one to join?

    • Reply Alyssa April 21, 2016 at 3:05 am

Thank you so much Kristy! I do have a church at my college and one back home I go to 🙂

Oh gosh, I love all of your goals. I think appreciating the little things can go such a long way in changing your attitude and mindset. Whenever I stop and feel grateful for things like hot coffee in the morning or a cozy blanket at night, I feel so much happier and positive.

I do journal but have been slacking lately… that’s definitely one of my goals for the next month! That and continuing to rest and not exercise 🙂

Thank you so much Amanda!! Appreciating the little things really can go a long way. And those are awesome goals girl, love you beautiful! <3 and your blog 🙂

Awesome goals! I love journaling and have actually found that writing down my prayers in my journal has helped me strengthen my faith. It’s a great way to keep track of how you’ve grown and how God’s answered your prayers. 🙂

    Blessings,
