Self-Care This Week

Here are some of the ways I was compassionate with myself this week and took care of myself:

1. Drawing

-> Picking up a piece of paper and pencil is so therapeutic.

2. Yoga

-> I typically do my own flows at home or videos from Yoga With Adrienne on YouTube. This week, I went to a Hatha class at a studio nearby. This practice of going inward aids in my ability to keep peace in my mind and stay grounded.

3. Reading

I finished The Sun and her Flowers by Rupi Kaur this week.

4. Coffee, journaling, and music

5. Netflix

-> Vampire Diaries has been my go-to show.

6. Lighting candles, burning incense, diffusing oils… all of this helps me to relax more and brings more light into my room which I love in the cold winter season.

8. Face masks

Those are some of the ways I took care of myself this week and fed my soul. All of this stuff makes me happy and feel so GOOD. Taking this time to do things we love goes a long way for our mental well-being. Take this time for you friends!

      I love any kind of charcoal face mask. The Frank and Whit ones are so nice!!

    Self care is SO KEY, especially during the winter when everything can get quite cold, dark, and dreary. Also, your drawing!!! You’re so talented; I’d love to see more of your art on your blog 🙂
    I’ve actually been reading Gretchen Rubin’s “The Happiness Project” which is great for self-care, and I have also been journaling a ton (in my new Pottermore journal, *hairflip*), drinking lots of almond milk lattes (the BEST for cold weather), and going on long walks with either a podcast in my ears or just my own thoughts.       it is SO so key. thank you so much for the kind words on my drawing- i’m really trying to improve my art work hehe. I’ve heard that book is great too. also almond milk lattes are the best!! wish we could have a coffee date 🙂

    My “happy” oil blend in my diffuser in the morning. Going to a coffee shop that has no WIFI, getting a good coffee and reading from a real book. Baking, just for the sake of baking. And inviting friends over.

    Things are feeling hard at the start of this year, so I’ve been consciously bringing more of these things into my life.

    Yoga with Adrienne is my go-to too for when I’m at home. Plus her pup is just adorable.
    In terms of self-care, I went to my first therapy appointment of the year, journalling more about my intentions for 2018 and reading nonstop.
    Glad you’re starting the year off on a compassionate note. 🙂
