January 15, 2016 in Friday Favorites

Hi guys and happy Friday! Hope you all had a great week and have an even better weekend filled with relaxation and lots of laughter. 🙂

This week I am linking up with Heather to share some of my favorite things from this week. Let’s get started!

Music

Skinny Love by Bon Iver (been having this on repeat all week)

Youth by Daughter

Young Blood by The Naked and Famous

You’ve Got The Love, Cosmic Love, No Light No Light all by Florence+the Machine (Also found out that Florence+the Machine and Of Monsters and Men are coming to Boston and I AM SO EXCITED)

Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap

TV Shows

Still finishing up Chasing Life and I’ve been re-watching One Tree Hill!

(Need some new Netflix suggestions though if you guys have any!)

Food

Overnight Oats. -> I don’t get to have these at college and I had some today and just WOW I missed them. All I do is cook 1/2 cup oats with 1/4 cup liquid egg whites, mix 1/3 cup yogurt and stick them in the fridge overnight. In the morning I top them with all the good stuff. This time I put on a banana, chia seeds, and Pb&Co white chocolate wonderful peanut butter! My belly was happy.

Deep chocolate Vita Tops. IN LOVE with these. If you haven’t tried vita tops, go give ’em a try! This flavor is my favorite because, well… chocolate. Duh.

Yoga

I learned this new pose this week and it made me super happy. I’m bringing my yoga mat back to school with me and am excited to continue my practice . Yoga brings me so much joy and helps me to feel relaxed and refreshed. I LOVE IT.

Chipotle

This could go under the category of food but Chipotle is just so amazing it needs its own category. Give me all the guac please!!

Coloring

Been loving coloring/drawing and writing quotes. It is so relaxing for me and I love throwing on some music and pulling out a coloring book and colored pencils.

Looking forward to?

I go back to college on Sunday and while I do have some nerves about that (which I think is normal for everyone) I am on the other hand super excited and thrilled to see all my friends again, get back into the swing of things, start new classes, and just get readjusted to the college life. I am determined to make this a better semester for myself and continue to work on my goals as well as improving myself as a person. 🙂

Quotes

Been loving these quotes!! I am such a quote person and am always inspired and moved when I find a quote I really connect to. I can’t wait to hang some of these up in my dorm room as constant reminders. 🙂

Those overnight oats look so good. I really need to try them since I hear so many good things! If you haven’t seen Bloodline on Netflix, I highly recommend it! Its a Netflix original. At first I wasn’t so sure but my friends told me to keep watching and I’m glad I did!

That yoga pose is incredible! O_O I’m always amazed at how God made our bodies to do things that I never thought possible. 🙂

I totally have Netflix shows for you! Scandal, Orange is the New Black, Revenge, Master of None, How to get Away with Murder and The Office. I’ve also heard Parenthood is good and Gilmore Girls is on Netflix so that is a staple show. Chipotle is closing for the day on February 8 (plan accordingly hahaha)
That yoga pose is so impressive! My favorite part of yoga is the end when you just lay there haha

I’ve heard great things about all those shows! I’m not caught up on Scandal but I need to fix that! Oh right I heard about Chipotle closing that day, haha thanks for the heads up. And thank you so much, I love that part at the end too it is SO relaxing. Hope you have a great day Ellie and thanks for reading 🙂

    That yoga balance is impressive!
I’ve never cooked my overnight oats before. Usually I just soak ’em, but sometimes they’re tough on my tummy that way. Might have to try your pre-cooked version. I’ve also been a fan of coloring lately. My husband gave me a couple books and colored pencils as stocking stuffer. 🙂
Glad to have found your blog. 🙂

    • Reply Alyssa January 16, 2016 at 6:39 pm

Thank you so much Catherine. I find that cooking the oats is definitely easier on my tummy (I have a pretty sensitive stomach) and they taste super good too! I got some new markers and a coloring book that I’m so excited to bring back to college with me haha. Thanks for reading! 🙂 Have a great weekend <3

My boyfriend and I just started watching House of Cards last night on Netflix and so far I’m really liking it! We made each other swear that we wouldn’t watch it alone, and if we did we have to tell the other person so we stay on track!

I’ve heard great things about that show!! My brother loves it! I need to give it a try 🙂
