Hi guys and happy Saturday! Going to be recapping the last part of my Florida trip. I’m writing this on Friday night (my last night here) and I have an early wake up call for my flight tomorrow that leaves at 7:00 a.m. I can’t believe how fast this trip went by, but boy was it fun and was it so amazing to be in the warm weather and sunshine all week. I am so thankful I got to go on this trip! I left off at Tuesday afternoon, so I’m going to be recapping the week from there. 🙂
On Tuesday night, my brother, Gabby, and I had dinner in at my Uncle’s place then went out. Gab and I went to a hookah bar which was fun. It was my first time doing hookah and it was a cool experience. Definitely not something I would do all the time, but it was fun! After, we went to get appetizers at this cute restaurant outside. There was music and dancing and the atmosphere was so fun. My brother had drinks at the bar while Gab and I danced outside and munched on chips with salsa and guac. It was a really great night!

Selfies, and bc Gab looked so gorgeous in this pic
I slept in until around 10:30 on Wednesday and went for a run after! I also picked up a coffee from Starbucks. 🙂
Iced americano with soy and a selfie hehe
After my run, I came back and made myself some food. We spent the day by the pool and tanned/went swimming. I also did some yoga by the pool. 🙂
PC to Gab
On Wednesday night, Gab and I got dinner at this really cool retro-like restaurant then went shopping. We got gifts for some of our friends back at school and some stuff for ourselves! And we made sure to snap some pics too while out on the Fort Lauderdale strip for the memories.
On Thursday morning, I adventured out to this cute little juice restaurant place while Gab was sleeping. It was def my kinda restaurant- tons of smoothies, oatmeal, omelettes, acai bowls, coffee, and they have lunch/dinner there too. I tried an acai bowl and it was so delicious!!
Acai bowl topped with mango, bananas, granola, and coconut. It was SOO good.
Coffee with almond milk
And just because I loved this painting there 🙂 I would love this in my dorm room or room at home-I think it is so beautiful!!
We went to the beach Thursday, and the weather was super nice. Sitting in the sunshine and soaking up the vitamin D truly does put me in a better mood and make me super happy.
Gab and I got lunch along the beach later on in the day.
This salad was super good. A base of romaine topped with cucumbers, carrots, sesame noodles, grilled chicken, and a peanut dressing!
We went back to the beach, listened to music, and tanned/relaxed for a few hours. After, we walked back to my uncle’s place and watched some TV. After getting ready, we headed out to go to dinner around 7:30. My uncle and his girlfriend took us to a cool taco bar. Gab and I got mahi-mahi tacos which were SO good. This place was so cute inside and our waitress was an absolute sweetheart.
“All things must pass. Give me love, give me peace on earth.” Loved this!!
And after tacos, we got gelato. Because BALANCE FRIENDS- and life is too damn short to say no to gelato. Especially this oreo gelato.
On Friday morning, I headed out for a run/walk in the morning. I did a little strength workout too, ate breakfast, then went out to get an iced coffee from Starbucks. I caught up on some blog reading too. 🙂
After Gab woke up, we went out to the pool and sat in the sun. The weather was absolutely beautiful and there were barely any clouds in the sky. We really lucked out weather wise this week!
Gab and I grabbed salads at Whole Foods for lunch, then walked back and sat by the pool again! A few hours later, I came in to do some packing and shower. My uncle and his girlfriend took us to the same place I went to for breakfast for dinner.
This was just SO amazing omg. A side of sweet potatoes with a veggie burger that was topped with tomato, lettuce, avocado, and cheese on a whole wheat sandwich thin. YUMM!
After dinner, we went to walk around by the ocean. There was live music playing which was cool! Gab and I walked on the beach a bit too.
We grabbed frozen yogurt too! I didn’t snap a pic, but I got birthday cake with strawberries, cookie dough bites, and dark chocolate chips. ‘Twas delish!!
All in all, it was just such an amazing trip and I am so thankful to have met a friend as amazing as Gab. She is truly such a genuine and kind person and someone that just gets me- and for that I am forever thankful (lol cheesy IK). I am also super thankful for my uncle and that he let us stay with us, and that I got to spend time with my brother!
Obviously going back to reality after vacation is tough, but I’ll get readjusted and all will be well.
Now tell me:
What are your favorite frozen yogurt toppings?
Do you suffer from the post-vacation blues?
Happy weekend guys!! Thank you for reading. 🙂
Sending my love as always.
