New Things I’m Loving!

Hi friends! Happy Friday. 🙂 First week back for me in the “real world” after a month in the mountains and it was good! Definitely an adjustment, but still lovin’ this life ya know?

Sharing some favorite things with ya today: let’s get started!!

  1. Rootz Nutrition. This company was kind enough to send me some things to try. This protein powder tastes so yummy! Check ’em out friends. 🙂


2.  Alternative Baking Company Cookies. Guys- I love these. Seriously the chocolate chip one is so freaking good!! Huge fan. SONY DSC

3. Purely Pinole. I was a bit hesitant trying this, but guys it’s actually so good. Perfect breakfast. I topped mine with granola, raisins, banana, and coconut!


4. New Facebook group!! Okay guys I started a Facebook group called “good energy, positive vibes tribe.” I just want to have a safe space for humans to connect with one another and share the things that make our souls the happiest. I want this group to radiate love and bring more positivity in each other’s lives, but also show that life gets hard and that’s okay too. We’re all just humans on this planet trying to figure things out, so this is a nice little space to do that together. If you want to join feel free to do so!! 🙂

5. New JOB! I got a job teaching yoga at my school this year!! SO so blessed.

6. I taught my mom and grandma yoga on Sunday and it was so magical.


7. I love my new mala beads I got from Yoga Teacher Training. Wear them on my wrist every day- they hold such a special place in my heart.


8. POETRY. I’ve been posting my poems on Instagram!! Go follow me ( @ blissful_lyss29 ) if you wanna read ’em. 🙂

Friday Five

Its’ Friday and I want to share five awesome things from my week with you lovely humans. Hope you all enjoyed your week thus far!

  1. Spending time with my friend Leah on Tuesday. 

This girl is just SO REAL and I love her. We got to the same college and I’m super blessed to have connected with a soul like hers. Down to earth and legit always there for me through good and bad. Thankful she lives close to me so I can see her during the summer!!

2. Doing yoga out by my pool on Wednesday morning. 

It was so hot and sunny out. Perfect to just flow outside. I grabbed my mat and put on some good tunes (follow me on spotify!! -> Alyssa Cristadoro) and just flowed. It was so nice to just be fully in touch with my body and do as it wanted. Yoga always helps me with that. Staying in touch with the mind-body connection and treating myself with endless compassion. After doing some yoga I jumped in the pool which felt awesome!

3. Finishing the book Shifting Bone by Alison Malee. 

Wow this book was just beautiful. I am loving poetry books like these with such powerful messages. Alison Malee is a freaking rockstar and a warrior. I highly recommend this book.

4. Spending the day at the beach on Thursday.

My best friend and I took advantage of the hot weather and hit up the beach. The water was freezing but I still went in it once. Just loved being outside and chilling with her. Warm weather makes me the happiest person.


5. The movie The Shack 

I didn’t read this book but boy was the movie powerful. Literally had tears swelling up in my eyes watching it. The plot line, the characters, the message. SO good. 10/10 recommend.

Last week I saw City and Colour and then Jack Johnson the next day. I HAD LOTSS of fun!!

And I’m seeing SOJA and the Dirty Heads this Sunday with another one of my bff’s. I’m so excited. 🙂


Okay- PERFECT BARS. These bars are legit amazing like if you haven’t tried them please go do yourself a favor and try them.


Also got my new Nuzest protein powder in and I’m loving it!! It’s a plant based protein and I tried the vanilla flavor. 10/10 recommend.

And another food favorite- Trader Joe’s dark chocolate covered almonds. Gimme ’em all please and thanks.


This site though>> They have SO much Lululemon stuff on it which is perfect for the people like me who love Lulu but hate paying the big bucks for it. And a bunch of other cute clothes and brands. Basically you sell your used clothes on it- it’s like online consignment shopping!

Thanks Dad for buying this for me. I literally LOVE sitting out on my hammock with a good book or a journal. All the happy feels. 🙂

Let’s Catch Up

Hi guys! How are ya?! Lol introductions always feel so forced to me. But I hope you’re doing well! I’ve been posting more over at my YouTube channel which has been fun. So check that out if you like watching videos!

So let’s catch up this fine Tuesday. Well- catch up on my life haaaaaa. 🙂


-I’ve been working a lot. GNC and babysitting! Good money though which is a positive. And I’m thankful to have two jobs that aren’t too stressful.

-I’ve been watching lots of documentaries!! I highly recommend Missrespresentation, Embrace, Minimalism, and Living on one dollar. All of which are on Netflix!

-I’ve been eating all the rice cakes. They’re so nice because I can always switch up the toppings!




-I’ve been trying to plan a bit for my future. There’s a lot I want to do in this world, so writing down all of those things has been helpful for me. I need to make a big vision board. Any suggestions on how to do those?!

-I’ve been listening to lots of good music. Nahko and Medicine for the People, Trevor Hall, Ben Howard, SOJA, Rebelution, Jack Johnson, Logic… Any of you fans of these people?!

-I’m seeing two concerts this week! City and Color on Thursday and Jack Johnson on Friday.

-I’ve been finding all the good quotes on Tumblr. Follow me!



-I’ve been embracing all the puppy kisses and yoga flows.


-I’ve been mentally preparing for the fact that I’m taking off for a month this summer. I will be living where I am getting certified to teach yoga. Putting my anxieties in his hands, and following my dreams despite the fear that sometimes engulfs my mind. “Wake the dreams into realities” -following that mantra wholeheartedly.

-I’ve been enjoying Whole Foods vegan muffins. Whole Foods bakery in general is just so good. 🙂 And everything there for that matter!

-I’ve been seeing friends. Laughing with them. Trying to dance and making a fool of myself. All the things that make my heart happy. I’ve been encouraging friends too who have been struggling with mental battles. Life is pretty freakin’ tough sometimes guys.

-I’ve been working on my handstands and back flexibility!

1.PERFECT BARS. These are the best. ALSO SIGGI’S. Soooo much yumminess here!! (And bananas are an obvious fave!)


2. This black dress from Macy’s that I wore to my schools formal last week! So cute and actually comfy!

4. Getting accepted to yoga teacher training. 🙂 I’ll be gone for a month from June 25-July 21st and will be living at Kripalu and getting certified there! I AM SO EXCITED!!

1. Stomach aches. My stomach was up and down alllll week and it got pretty dang uncomfy.

You know how they say Saturday is for the boys?? Well then Sunday should definitely be for the girls- DUH (this picture still makes me laugh)

This was on my friend Brae’s Instagram story and it just made me so so so incredibly happy. Knowing people read my blog puts the biggest smile on my face!! 

From this weekend, but I really just adore this picture of my roommate and I. And I adore her!! I am so so thankful <3

And as for food pics, none of them were too nice lookin’ this week. So I’ll try and work with what I can for next week… But sometimes dining hall salads and turkey sandwiches just aren’t photogenic :p

Top 3 Friday 9/2/16

Hi guys and happy Friday! First week of sophomore year is done 🙂 Lots of adjusting took place this week but I am feeling so happy to be back on campus and super grateful to be with my friends again. And I have a 4 day weekend- no classes on Friday + classes off for Labor Day…. yahoooo!

Today I’m going to be linking up with Kate for another Top 3 Friday, so let’s get started!

Top 3 Eats 

My last meal at home Sunday-> 2 scrambled eggs, banana with PB, and a Siggi’s yogurt! So good!


This snack of trail mix and fresh Strawbs!



Qdoba salad while out with my parents! Topped with corn, beans, mild salsa, peppers/onions, chicken, and guac!

Top 3 Highs 

-Being on the board for two clubs. This year I’m on the eBoard for two clubs: one called health at the hill which promotes mental and physical well-being, and another called Autism Speaks! I’m so excited for both of them and to make them great this year. 😉

-Seeing my parents for lunch yesterday. Anytime I get to see them while at school is such a blessing!! <3

-Being with my friends again… feeling extra grateful for their love.

( I have some more highs than 3 this week because finding the best in little situations is so important to me!)

-Going to church Tuesday night, seeing the people in my old dorm room, and spending time with my cousin who is a freshman at my college.

-A great leg day on Wednesday. 🙂


-Trying to find a routine/schedule again. Things are still kind of all over the place, but I know a schedule will come in no time so I am not going to fret over it. 🙂

Top 3 Eats 

These pancakes with brown sugar cinnamon pb from Nut butter nation, banana, and cinnamon. SO GOOD GUYS! (recipe is on my Instagram if you want it- blissful_lyss29!)


This ice cream was AMAZING. One scoop milky way and one scoop Toll House. Perfectionnnnnn


Spaghetti squash fresh from my mom’s garden! Topped with marinara, mozzarella, and broccoli with a piece of toast spread with coconut oil on the side 🙂


Top 3 Highs 

-Spending the night with my bff and watching the Olympics together!

-Discovering the website “She Reads Truth” and getting to spend time in the morning reading scriptures on that with a warm cup of coffee… truly made me smile!

-My friend Jessie came up Tuesday and we spent the day together. Lunch and lots of shopping was just what I needed 🙂

OH… ANDDDD I got my nose pierced and am in love with it. 😀 (S/O to Jessie for letting me squeeze her hand hehe)

Top 3 lows

-ANXIETY. I had some things I was anxious about. And the feeling of anxiety just sucks sometimes. The tightness in your chest… the replaying thoughts in your head. I am thankful I have coping mechanisms now to get through it!

-A bad night’s sleep. I blame this partially to anxiety. I listened to meditation music though and was finally able to fall asleep at least! 🙂

-I don’t have a third!

3 things I am grateful for (switching it up a bit)

-The family vacation I got to go on last week! Maine is such a beautiful place and the time I get to spend with my family is time I truly cherish.

-The fact that I can even receive a college education. With school approaching quickly and as nerves come with that, I always remind myself how incredibly blessed I am that I can even go to college as so many can’t. The gift of learning is one we often take for granted.

-Going to the Blink 182 concert today! I’m so grateful that I was able to get tickets and that I can spend the night with my friends later on today. 🙂

And I am SO grateful for all of you who make me smile so stinkin’ big 😀
